The largest live streaming video service provider in Brazil relies on Ateme technology for HEVC-based contributions.

Ateme in Casablanca Online

Casablanca Online, the largest live streaming video service provider in Brazil, has upgraded its DSNG fleet with Kyrion encoders and decoders from Atem. Casablanca Online, which has been a user of Ateme technology for years, once again relies on its technology to offer its national and international clients more advanced contribution solutions, including HEVC encoding technology as part of its DSNG fleet.

Based on Ateme's 5th generation Stream compression engine, the Kyrion encoder/decoder provides high baseband video quality at minimal bit rates. This solution has been designed for contribution over satellite and IP networks, with value-added features such as ultra-fast startup, ultra-low latency and ABR output.
Alex Pimentel, CEO of Casablanca Online, points out that "we differentiate ourselves through our constant search for innovation, and that is why we chose Ateme. They have a solid reputation for successfully delivering technological innovations to the broadcasting industry."

"Ateme currently offers the most advanced implementations of MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 and HEVC/H.265 codecs, another reason why we were so interested in working alongside them. The company's Kyrion solutions meet market demand in terms of latency, modulation and bandwidth savings: HEVC encoding technology paired with DVB-S2x provides 50% efficiency savings. Now we can take advantage "better video compression with much less bandwidth, improving video quality in terms of resolution, contrast and color," said Pimentel.
