Australian Hoyts acquires several Christie CP4325-RGB pure laser projectors

The units will be installed in a new “full RGB laser” complex that Hoyts will soon inaugurate in Melbourne (Australia) and in the Department of Post, its post-production company in Auckland.

The Australian entertainment company Hoyts has acquired Christie several units of the CP4325-RGB pure laser projector. The new solution has recently been launched to the market to enable the highest quality visual standards in large commercial cinemas and post-production facilities in Australia and New Zealand.

The newly acquired units will be installed in a new “total RGB laser” complex which Hoyts will soon open in the Docklands district of Melbourne (Australia, which is set to become the company's flagship), and in Department of Post, a post-production company based in the New Zealand city of Auckland. The installation will be carried out by Hoyts Cinema Technology Group (CTG), which offers extensive service and support to professionals and companies in the Australian and New Zealand exhibition and post-production sectors.

Adam Wrightson, general director of Hoyts Cinema Technology Group (CTG), has assured that “with the new Christie CP4325-RGB pure laser projectors we are preparing to provide the best possible viewing experience to each and every theater in the new Docklands complex and to post-production facilities such as the Department of Post.”

In addition to the new projectors CP4325-RGB, the Hoyts Docklands complex will have two of its premium and XtremeScreen format auditoriums (20 meter wide screens) with Christie projection systems CP42LH Pure RGB laser with fiber coupling. All CP42LH units will be upgraded to 60,000 lumens to ensure the brightest and most captivating visuals.

"We are talking about what will be our second and third CP42LH systems installed in Hoyts cinemas in Melbourne, which will give our viewers the ultimate cinema experience. But in addition to Christie's pure RGB laser projection systems, all theaters in the Docklands complex will have Dolby Atmos sound," highlights Wrightson.

Equipped with Christie's new CineLife Series 3 electronics and RealLaser lighting, the new direct-attached Christie CP4325-RGB offers wide color palette exceeding DCI P3 specifications, reinforced contrast ratios and HFR (high frame rate) compatibility.

Featuring an innovative all-in-one form factor, which eliminates the need for external sub-ambient cooling, direct-attached Christie CP4235-RGB employs next-generation laser technology, which directly emits pure reds, greens and blues, thus ensuring a visual experience unprecedented in large commercial cinemas. It also guarantees great color richness, higher contrast ratios and the lowest cost of ownership of projectors of its class on the market today.

Using next-generation pure RGB laser devices, the CP4325-RGB delivers an impressive – and highly reliable – operating life of over 30,000 hours, with only 20% brightness loss over that period.
