Who is who in the new executive committee of Telefónica
The operator splits its activity in Latin America into two units: Hispam Sur (Argentina, Chile, Peru and Uruguay) and Hispam Norte (Colombia, Mexico, Central America, Ecuador and Venezuela).
Closing the remodeling after the replacement of César Alierta, José Álvarez-Pallete, executive president of Telefónica, has chosen replace Luis Luis Miguel Gilpérez as executive president of Telefónica Spain. It will be Emilio Gayo who will occupy the presidency while the figure of Chief Executive Officer (COO) is created, whose position he will occupy María Jesús Almazor, until now director of the Southern Territory of Telefónica Spain.
As to Telefónica Hispanoamérica, led to date by Eduardo Caride, splits into two units to more effectively address the different market situations: the Telefónica Hispam Sur unit (encompassing operations in Argentina, Chile, Peru and Uruguay), headed by Bernardo Quinn, (until now director of global Human Resources) and Telefónica Hispam Norte (Colombia, Mexico, Central America, Ecuador and Venezuela), headed by Alfonso Gómez Palacio.
