Twelve renowned professionals make up the new Advisory Committee of Telefónica Tech
In order to boost its growth, the new Advisory Committee of Telefónica Tech, chaired by José Cerdán, will be made up of twelve professionals of recognised prestige and experience in the technological world.
This new body will aim to promote the company's organic and inorganic growth and to promote the leadership of its value propositions for digital transformation.
The Advisory Board of Telefónica Tech is composed of four members of the Board of Directors of Telefónica: Ángel Vilá, CEO of Telefónica; Verónica Pascual, CEO of Asti Technologies Group; Juan Ignacio Cirac, director at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics; and Claudia Sender.
Also incorporated Chema Alonso, Chief Digital Officer of Telefónica; María García-Legaz, Chief of Staff at Telefónica; María Jesús Almazor, CEO of Cybersecurity and Cloud at Telefónica Tech; and Gonzalo Martín-Villa, CEO de IoT & Big Data de Telefónica Tech. Por su parte, Luis Prendes, Chief Legal Officer of Telefónica, assumes the role of Secretary of the Board.
In addition to these, there is also Alejandro Romero, founder and CEO of Alto Analytics and now Chief Operations Officer of Constella Intelligence, which was born as a result of the merger between Alto Analytics and 4iQ; and Isabel Fernández, PhD in Computing and Artificial Intelligence with expertise in Big Data, IoT and Digital Ethics, and currently rector of the Alfonso X El Sabio University.
Advisory boards are a mechanism aimed at providing support to the governing and management bodies of commercial companies, whose objective is, among others, to accelerate growth and improve the competitiveness of the business sector, facilitate the presentation of trends, help in the configuration of value propositions, provide innovative ideas, enrich the strategic debate, to contribute to the incessant search for reputational improvements and, in any case, to contribute to the generation of debates that include the sustainable and profitable transformation of commercial companies.
For José Cerdán, CEO of Telefónica Tech, "the creation of such a high-level Advisory Board confirms Grupo Telefónica's firm commitment to digital business as a vector of strategic growth for the company and is a fundamental step to continue accompanying our customers in their digital transformation with the best services".
Telefónica Tech was born in November 2019 as one of the five pillars of Grupo Telefónica's strategic plan to drive the company's transformation. Currently composed of two divisions (one for the cloud and cybersecurity businesses and the other focused on IoT, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain), Telefónica Tech closed the first nine months of the year with a 25.5% increase in revenues and expects to continue with double-digit growth thanks to the opportunity represented by the more than 5.5 million B2B customers of the Telefónica Group.
