Telefónica Tech and IBM will jointly deploy new AI solutions

The new collaboration agreement signed by Telefónica Tech e IBM, initially limited to Spain, will promote the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI), analytics and data governance solutions in all types of companies and contexts.

This new alliance establishes a collaboration framework between both companies to help their clients face the complexity what does the management of new technologies in a heterogeneous and changing environment, and be able to extract all the value from them in your business processes. Both companies will work together on the development and deployment of an open platform, hybrid and multi-cloud specialized in data management and AI to facilitate and accelerate business initiatives for clients; an office of cases of use, demos and development of MVPs, and in the implementation of resources, training and certifications. Watsonx AI and Data, a platform launched by IBM last year, will be the “nuclear piece” of this collaboration agreement reached.

The alliance will have one of its highlights with the joint implementation of the system SHARK.X at the LaCabina facilities, Telefónica's technological inspiration center for the digital transformation of companies and public administrations. This open platform, hybrid and multi-cloud hosts different IBM hardware and software components, with access to IBM Cloud and other clouds, with a native IBM Storage Fusion HCI hyperconverged infrastructure for running business applications.

Telefónica Tech will contribute professional services specialized to define the most appropriate deployment architecture for each client and integrate the solution into their environment, as well as to ingest data from different sources and develop artificial intelligence use cases aimed at addressing their business priorities. On the other hand, at the level of software, IBM incluirá varias tecnologías que darán cobertura a toda la cadena de valor asociada a la gestión, análisis y explotación de datos empresariales.
