Ana Bordas and Alberto Fernandez (RTVE)

In the television and digital assemblies of the European Broadcasting Union held in Warsaw (Poland), the director of Originals of RTVE, Ana María Bordas, has been re-elected vice president of the EBU Television Committee, while the director of RTVE Play and responsible for RTVE's Digital Content, Alberto Fernández, has been elected member of the Digital Committee.

Bordás has been elected with 2/3 of the votes in the television Assembly held this Thursday for the period 2023-2025. This will be your fourth term, third as vice president, on the Committee, to which she has belonged for six years.

Ana María Bordas has a degree in Communication Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His professional connection with RTVE began in 1984, when he entered by opposition. She was news editor, News Chief and correspondent for RNE in Washington and has held management positions at both RNE and TVE for more than 20 years. She has been director of RNE in Catalonia and of the TVE Production Center in Sant Cugat, director of La 2 and director of TVE Programming, among other management positions. She has been linked to the Spanish Eurovision delegation since 2017 and has also been part of the Junior Eurovision steering group since the 2021 edition. In addition, last March she was elected a member of the EBU reference committee for Eurovision 2023.

Among its main functions in the Television Committee are setting the strategic priorities of the television sector within the EBU, supervising events such as the Eurovision Song Contest, approving the strategy of television services and controlling the development fund.

For his part, the director of RTVE Play and responsible for RTVE's Digital Content, Alberto Fernandez, has been elected member of the EBU Digital Committee (Digital Committee) for the period 2023-2025. To date and since the creation of the Committee in 2018, he held the position Ignacio Gomez, Director of Audiences at RTVE.

The new EBU Digital Committee is chaired by the Swede Markus Sterky (SVT) and has four vice-presidents: Ana María Bordas, Dermot Horan (RTÉ), Matt Travers (BBC) and Bakel Walden (SRG). In addition, eight new members from public broadcasters with advanced digital transformation projects: Joahn Aaltonen (YLE), Akwasi Ansah (NPO), Albrecht Bischoffhausen (ARD), Claudio Fasulo (RAI), Milan Fridich (CT), Laetitia Huberti (RTBF), Anne-Catherine Nanopoulos (FTV) and Marek Solon-Lipinski (TVP).
