RTVE - UER Committee - Ana Maria Bordás and Alberto Fernández

The content production director of RTVE, Ana María Bordas, has been re-elected member of the Television Committee of the UER, while the director of digital platforms and services of the Corporation, Alberto Fernández, will renew his position as a member of the Digital Committee. Both will occupy their respective positions for a period of two years (2025-2027), as agreed this Wednesday at the television and digital Assemblies held in Yerevan (Armenia).

This will be the fourth term of Ana María Bordas on the Television Committee, to which he has been a member for eight years. With a degree in Communication Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​Bordas has been linked to RTVE since 1984, when she entered by competitive examination. She was news editor, head of news and correspondent for RNE in Washington and has held management positions at both RNE and TVE for more than 20 years. She has been director of RNE in Catalonia and of the TVE Production Center in Sant Cugat, director of La 2 and director of TVE Programming, among other positions. She has been linked to the Spanish Eurovision delegation since 2017 and has also been part of the Junior Eurovision steering group since 2021. In addition, last March she was elected president of the EBU reference committee for Eurovision.

The Television Committee is the most important European body within the television sector. Among its main functions are that of setting the strategic priorities of the television sector within the EBU, supervise events such as the Eurovision Song Contest, approve the strategy of television services and control the development fund.

On the other hand, this will be the second term of Alberto Fernandez in it EBU Digital Committee, which he joined in 2023. Alberto Fernández is currently director of digital platforms and services at RTVE. In his position, his main task is to lead the company's digital strategy, as well as supervise the distribution and digital content of RTVE. Likewise, he is the highest representative of RTVE on issues related to OTT platforms and the relationship with third platforms.

He Digital Committee of the EBU has focused on the coordination of content and strategies between public television platforms. This working group helps the organization identify strategic challenges that may have an impact on the production, distribution and innovation of digital products and services, and recommends the strategy and objectives of the EBU's own digital direction. It also represents the interests of members on issues of content and digital distribution strategy, trying to articulate recommendations and consensus positions, especially with regard to negotiations with third platforms, and contributing to the exchange of ideas and digital collaboration.
