Ana María Bordas (RTVE) assumes her position as head of the EBU Reference Group for Eurovision

The Reference Group of the UER to Eurovision, the highest supervisory body of the contest in charge of giving the green light to both the development and the financing and updating of Eurovision, will be led for the next two years by RTVE with Ana María Bordas as the main person in charge.

It also has the presence of Martin Osterdahl, executive supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, in addition to the executive producers of the previous and next edition, and two guest members of recognized competence and experience. Martin Green, director of the Eurovision Song Contest, has welcomed Ana María as president of the Reference Group and has positively valued the fact of “having a senior executive from such a respected station at the head of this important governing body.”

With this appointment, RTVE He occupies the most relevant position within the festival's steering committee. In March 2023, the Corporation returned to the Reference Group after several years of absence, consolidating its role in the organization of the contest. In 2024, RTVE was also the organizing body of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Madrid, where Bordas played the role of executive producer. “I hope that the new Reference Group will work as a united team in favor of all participating members to strengthen and enhance the Eurovision Song Contest,” Bordas herself stated upon assuming her position.

Ana María Bordas will combine the presidency of the Reference Group with her position at the head of the RTVE content production management. Furthermore, it is part of the Junior Eurovision Steering Committee and at the beginning of June she was re-elected member of the EBU Television Committee.
