Ana María Bordas (RTVE) Joan Ramón Mainat 2025 Award from FesTVal de Vitoria
The Vitoria-Gasteiz Television Festival (Festival) recognizes the director of Content Production of RTVE, Ana María Bordás, with the Joan Ramón Mainat award recognizing “an impeccable professional career, marked by leadership, innovation, public service and its international relevance.”
FesTVal recognizes not only his achievements and career, but also the profound impact he has had on the projection of Spanish public television. In addition, she was the first woman to direct RNE in Catalonia, demonstrating her leadership capacity and her groundbreaking role as a woman in senior positions within public radio and television.
Currently, Bordas is Director of Content Production at RTVE, where she supervises the areas of entertainment, magazines, society and culture, children's and youth programming and new formats. A position that he will combine for the next two years with that of president of the EBU Reference Group for Eurovision, a position that involves supervising, approving and making key decisions about the organization and development of the most relevant music competition in Europe. In this area, Bordas has been head of the Spanish Eurovision delegation since 2017 and is a member of the Junior Eurovision steering group since 2021, demonstrating her fundamental role in RTVE's strategy at the EBU festivals. She was also the executive producer of the last edition of Euovisión Junior held in Madrid in 2024.
Bordas has an extensive career at RTVE where she joined in 1984. Since then, she has been news editor, head of news and RNE correspondent in Washington, in addition to holding various management positions at RNE and TVE for more than 20 years as director of La 2, director of Programming and director of the Production Center of Catalonia.
Ana María Bordas completes the list of personalities awarded this year's Joan Ramón Mainat Awards and joins Risto Mejide, Klaudio Landa and Vicente Vallés.
