FesTVal 2011 starts in Vitoria

The Vitoria Television and Radio Festival (FesTVal) is committed this year to becoming a showcase for pilots of new projects for programs and series.

From August 30 to September 4, Vitoria becomes the capital of television. The Vitoria Television and Radio Festival (FesTVal) is committed this year to becoming a showcase for pilots of new projects for programs and series. Every afternoon, the Guridi Cinemas in the capital of Alava will bring together professionals and the public around new proposals from series to contests, including other types of formats. a crazy house, a project by Ana Otero and Juan Ramón Bonet, will open this section.

Mainat Awards

The Mainat Awards, which are awarded within the framework of the Vitoria Television and Radio Festival, will go this year to journalists with extensive experience, such as Matías Prats, Luis del Olmo and Ana Rosa Quintana.

Matías Prats from Madrid, son of another established communicator, began his professional career in the 1970s. After his time on radio he ended up on television, where he stood out as a sports journalist by covering eight Olympic Games and various soccer World Cups, as well as other disciplines such as golf and tennis.

After directing Estudio Estadio he was a news presenter, an activity that he continues to do today with the greatest success.

Luis del Olmo has directed and presented “Protagonistas” since 1973, which makes it the oldest radio program on our airwaves. His vocation awoke at the early age of 14 in his hometown, Ponferrada, and he knew how to develop it over the years. Not in vain, Luis del Olmo has been awarded more than one hundred times. “Protagonistas” has been a pioneer for introducing successful spaces on the radio, such as talk shows and humor, in addition to taking the initiative to broadcast from theaters and emblematic places.

Ana Rosa Quintana began her career in radio and two years later she was already presenting the nightly edition of Telediario. After her work as a correspondent in New York and alternating in different media for years, she became definitively known as a presenter on the program 'Verdicto'. Shortly after, magazines such as 'Extra Rosa, together with Rosa Villacastín, 'Sabor a ti' and 'El program de Ana Rosa' arrived, all of them with high audience levels.

Critics' Awards

As for the III Passion Critics Awards, whose jury was made up of Pepe Colubi (El Jueves, Cadena Ser, Canal+), Rosa Belmonte (Grupo Vocento), Ramón Colom (Fotogramas), Francisco Andrés Gallardo (Grupo Joly), Cipriano Torres, (Grupo Prensa Ibérica), Vertele.com, Víctor M. Amela (La Vanguardia), Formulatv.com, Ángel Fernández (El Mundo), Antonio Sempere (La Gaceta) and Carlos del Amor (RNE and TVE), have been awarded to the following programs and/or professionals:

-The best of the year: 'Crematorium' (CANAL +)

-Interesting: 'The invisible half' (LA 2)

-Funny: 'The one that is coming' (TELECINCO)

-Discovery: 'Hispania' (ANTENA 3)

Special mention from the jury in this category as an entertainment program: 'Atrapa unmillion' (ANTENA 3)
-Current: Ana Pastor (TVE)

EiTB Trending Award

For its part, the Basque regional channel has awarded Aritz Rodríguez for his website “Transistoria.com”, due to its innovative nature and its involvement in transmedia storytelling. "We build universes so that stories intersect, interact, disperse and find themselves again. We make your story come to life in the hands of people," the authors of this pioneering project state online.

The awards ceremony will take place during the FesTVal Closing Gala, that is, on Saturday, September 3, starting at 8:30 p.m. at the Teatro Principal.
