The “gaming” revolution, at the 5GForum in Malaga
According to the latest study prepared by the company SuperData Research, the video game industry worldwide reached a turnover of 100 billion dollars, more than 80 billion euros, in 2017.
The revolution that “gamers” and the “gaming” industry with the arrival of 5G will be analyzed in the 5GForum, the first multidisciplinary event in Spain on this new technology, which will take place on April 25 and 26 in Malaga.
The 5GForum, organized by Medina Media, con RTVE and Panorama Audiovisual as media partners, aims to offer in two intense days a panoramic view of the immediate changes that 5G can bring in different fields of application, including gaming.
According to the latest study carried out by the company SuperData Research, the video game industry worldwide reached a turnover of 100,000 million dollars, more than 80,000 million euros, in 2017.
According to this same study, turnover will increase by 70% in just four years. However, this industry may undergo important transformations due to the implementation of 5G.
Juan Olivares, Head of VAS & Business Development para Europa de la multinacional OnMobile, will be in charge of offering this presentation on “Gaming y 5G” at the 5GForum in Malaga.
Olivares will emphasize how 5G will transform the video game industry, from the point of view of the user experience and the devices we use every day, with special emphasis on mobile phones.

In addition to OnMobile, multinationals such as Samsung, Nokia, Cellnex, Hispasat, Axión, Telefónica, Vodafone, RTVE, Ericsson,... and several Spanish universities will share their experiences, progress and projects with the 250 attendees at this first multidisciplinary event held in Spain.
In addition to gaming, the 5GForum will study other fields of application of 5G such as connected cars, the Internet of Things (IoT), health, telemedicine, emergency services, smartcities, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Tourism, among others.
