Javier Gutiérrez is the absolute protagonist of this particular sitcom with which the Amstel brewery is committed to an innovative audiovisual product, oriented to the digital world and supported by the television channel.

Time to recognize

Amstel launches web series Time to Recognize, a project of eight chapters directed by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo and starring Javier Gutiérrez, recent winner of the Goya for best leading actor.

The series takes up the study promoted by Amstel, Recognition Index in Spain which reveals the lack of appreciation that exists in our country. The report provides striking data such as that 80% of Spaniards do not feel valued at work, that 6 out of 10 do not feel recognized as a couple or that almost 70% of Spanish mothers are not valued as they should.

Time to Recognize It comes to invite an entire country to recognize the good. Through eight short chapters, the viewer will encounter everyday examples as familiar as the lack of recognition of a mother after having cooked all morning; the friend who cooks a paella on a Sunday in the sun and only receives complaints or how after organizing a move someone always has to show up asking about the most insignificant detail.

With this launch, Amstel bet on an innovative audiovisual product, oriented to the digital world and supported by the television channel. It is a concept in line with the current trend of fast consumption and entertainment. A new content format in which there is no shortage of recognizable characters and close and fun plots: a family, their relationships and adventures in different life situations. Javier Gutiérrez is the absolute protagonist of this particular sitcom that, without losing humor, acts as the voice of conscience, capable of freezing time and sneaking into all these situations to exchange criticism for recognition.

Daniel Sánchez Arévalo and Javier Gutiérrez (Time to recognize)

Sánchez Arévalo's first web series

Daniel Sánchez Arévalo, one of the film directors who best portrays the reality of our country in a comedic tone, directs this series, where he shows daily scenes in which, due to lack of habit, a job well done is not recognized.

For the director it is his first web series. An audiovisual product that he has described as “innovative and that follows in the footsteps of Modern Family” in which he has managed to show everyday life through humor. "It has been quite an experience to handle the keys of the sitcom in very compressed pieces. To achieve the spark, we have let the situations flow and grow during filming, looking for gags with a multitude of things happening," the director highlighted.

In addition to Sánchez Arévalo, Amstel has trusted Javier Gutiérrez for this production because they perfectly embody the values that the brand wishes to transmit. In this sense, Lucía López-Rúa, Marketing Director of Amstel, stated: "both are two valued professionals who know how to reflect very well what is close to them and connect with people. They are committed to their work and have received recognition from the public and their profession as a reward for their efforts."
