RTVE has inaugurated the new headquarters of the Guadalajara Information Unit, located in the well-known 'Torre de La Caixa'. It is a modern building located on Avenida Eduardo Guitián and equipped with the latest technologies.

The new headquarters of the Guadalajara Information Unit is made up of a studio and main lounge, to carry out live broadcasts, and self-control that allows tasks such as recordings, duplex and assembly of pieces for television to be made compatible. Both spaces are surrounded by glass, providing depth, visibility, light and modernity.

In addition, it has a central open space for four writing positions. The open area facilitates the coordination of editorial work, both for radio and television. It also has other spaces such as the equipment room, a warehouse and an office for the camera operator.

Located on the third floor of the building known as 'Torre de La Caixa', the new headquarters has exceptional views of the city. Its magnificent location enables the visibility of the RTVE brand, in an increasingly busy area, close to a well-known shopping center and the Guadalajara Fair.

The human team that makes up this new headquarters of the Guadalajara Information Unit is made up of three informants, two technicians and a camera operator. All of them work with the utmost professionalism and enthusiasm to provide all the information of local, regional, national and even international interest, generated in the area of ​​the city of Guadalajara and its province.

At the opening ceremony held last week, the corporate general director of RTVE, Enrique Alejo, has referred to the four challenges that the Corporation faces: citizen participation, digitalization of content, innovation and internationalization. "If something is public radio and television, it is that it belongs to the citizens. Consumption is changing radically, the media, the languages, the formats need to be adapted. We must be increasingly agile, faster and more operational to deliver the news in real time." Alejo concluded his speech by saying that “citizens must perceive RTVE as a world and global radio and television station.”

The inauguration was also attended byMayor of Guadalajara, Antonio Román. "RTVE's way of working is very remarkable, where the journalism is rigorous and of quality, a journalism that leaves aside the sensationalism so present today, in other areas of daily communication. At a time when anyone dares to be a journalist due to the innovation and intrusion of social networks, these qualities are especially appreciated, that of truthful, worked, contrasting, professional information. That is why my recognition and my desire to continue working like this on public television and public radio in Guadalajara”, he stated.

The director of Technology, Innovation and Systems of RTVE, Pere Vila, has highlighted in the inaugural event of this Guadalajara Information Unit the innovations carried out in the Territorial Center of Castilla-La Mancha and its incorporation "to the new mobility journalism projects and the pre-alert and information monitoring systems."

"Now that at RTVE we are evolving towards the use of cloud technologies and processes, powerful broadband and fiber communications, collaborative work and open environments, the Guadalajara Information Unit is part of this process and is once again a pilot, having a functional and central building, intended for creative intellectual work, strongly connected, open and designed for sharing," he explained.

Finally, he recalled that “in Castilla-La Mancha the project Journalism Innovation HUB, "which is a meeting point between companies in our sector for innovation in news, led by RTVE, in which this territorial center and its human team are the reference."
