The Spanish blockbuster 'Without limits' with a budget of 25 million will recreate the journey of Magellan and Elcano around the world

Now, within the framework of the commemorative events of the V Centenary of the first trip around the world. Mono Films in collaboration with Hill Media prepara Unlimited, a Spanish blockbuster that will recreate the experiences of Juan Sebastián Elcano and Fernando de Magallanes.

Así lo cuenta Miguel Menéndez de Zubillaga, productor de la película y principal responsable de que el proyecto haya salido adelante tras años de trabajo.

Unlimited cuenta con un presupuesto de 25 millones de euros y un equipo técnico de primer nivel encabezado por el director Simon West, un gran especialista en películas de aventuras y acción (Lara Croft, Con Air, La hija del general o The Expendables). En este sentido, también cuenta con dos grandes nombres en el diseño de producción y los efectos visuales, dos de los pilares fundamentales de este proyecto, dadas sus características: Dan Hennan, responsable del diseño de producción de cintas como Thor: Ragnarok, Alicia a través del espejo y The Hobbit y con los efectos visuales de uno de los mejores especialistas del momento, el catalán Félix Bergés, autor de escenas míticas de Lo imposible, A monster comes to see me o Game of Thrones, among many others.

El rodaje, que tiene previsto su inicio a principios de 2019, se llevará a cabo en localizaciones del País Vasco, Sevilla, Canarias (donde se recrearán escenarios naturales de la Patagonia y el Estrecho de Magallanes) y República Dominicana, en cuyas costas se reconstruirán los poblados guaraníes y filipinos que los expedicionarios visitaron en su viaje alrededor del mundo y donde se encuentra una de las sedes de los míticos Pinewood Studios, en cuyas instalaciones se rodarán algunas de las escenas marítimas más complicadas como las que recrean las espectaculares tormentas del Cabo de Buena Esperanza.

La producción contará además con una réplica de la Nao Victoria, única nave que consiguió regresar de las cinco que partieron.
