The CCMA celebrates International Archives Day with a technical talk and a visit to the TV3 archive
In relation to this archive, without which the recent history of Catalonia could not be explained audiovisually, the CCMA has collaboration agreements with various Catalan institutions, entities and universities, such as the National Archive of Catalonia, the Democratic Memorial, the Film Library of Catalonia, the Historical Archive of the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Pompeu Fabra University or the Open University of Catalonia, among others.
Those who participate in this open day will be able to attend a technical talk about the work that CCMA documentary filmmakers do and visit the TV3 archive at the Sant Joan Despí facilities.
Since 2003, the TV3 Documentation Department has gradually digitized the audiovisual collection and currently contains 1.282.972 referencias with some 340,000 hours of digitized images, which can be partially consulted on the TV3 à la carte portal.
The archive is a business asset, of quality and with informative rigor. But it not only preserves TV3 broadcasts (news, programs...), but also guards other collections.
He Department was born in 1983, at the same time as the television channel. The TV3 archive fulfills two objectives: as a heritage fund and as a production tool. Its mission is to preserve and document TV3's broadcasts and production, as well as to provide documentary support (images/information) in all areas of the chain, with a competent and effective service for internal and external use. Furthermore, the archive offers the possibility of exploitation for production in all audiovisual formats, uses or new platforms.
For its part, the file Catalonia Radio has been compiling a very extensive sound collection, which includes interviews, news, programs and broadcasts of major events and which are also found in digital format on the Catalunya Ràdio à la carte online service.
Registration to participate in this event can be done through this mail.
