The series, a new fiction commitment of the 1, has been created by Frank Ariza and set in a clandestine club of the 20s with Michelle Jenner and Álex García as protagonists.

Produced by RTVE in collaboration with Gossip Events and Created by producer, director and screenwriter Frank Ariza, has a wide cast, headed by Roberto Alamo, Raúl Arévalo, Fernando Tejero, Christian Sánchez, Paz Vega, Eloy Azorín, Franky Martín, Manolo Solo, Secun de la Rosa, Raúl Tejón and Estefanía de los Santos, among others.

The director of content, channels and production of TVE programs, Toni Sevilla, emphasizes that the series has created "a particular and different universe to tell the history of the promotion and descent of a criminal gang." Set in Madrid of the 20s, it shows a underworld with an established power where another band bursts. For Toni Sevilla, The Continenta It addresses "the duality between good and evil" and "the empowerment of women", in that "eagerness we have in RTVE to tell current stories."

The new fiction of the 1 is also "a love story where he, who arrives like a God, suffers a metamorphosis towards human, and she takes strength to acquire roles more typical of men."

The universe of The Continental

Ricardo León (Alex García) is a businessman from the world of alcohol, dark, with little sensitivity to personal relationships and a moral debt that drags the past with his uncle Baena (Roberto Álamo). Ricardo will begin the first illegal traffic network in the city in order to position his company and take revenge on his family.
But a series of situations make Ricardo's direction and objectives change when he fell in love with Andrea Abascal (Michelle Jenner), daughter of Alfonso (Manolo Solo), owner of an outstanding premises that, after the appearance of Ricardo, will become the nerve center for the darkest negotiations of the capital.

Andrea is a woman advanced to her time that reinvents himself in the face of adversity and plant face to difficulties raising as a key piece in this distribution network. The love story between them will revolve around a war for control, which will involve the large groups of the society of the time. In this way, they convert ‘El Continental’ to one more of the main protagonists, and Andrea Abascal in the first Gánster. The series is set at the beginning of the last century, and seeks to demolish conventional standards.

Amazing decorated

The filming is being carried out in different and surprising scenarios among which the old train station of Prince Pío, an immense building still standing in the center of Madrid, where the distillery has been recreated, one of the environments of the new series. These decorations occupy an area of approximately 2000 square meters in La Plata low and about 600 in other building locations.

Will include a great decoration that reproduces the time and atmosphere of The Continental, a luxury place where game and boxing shakes hand with music and smuggling.
On the other hand, a large set in San Sebastián de los Reyes houses a series of decorations that correspond to the set of streets from which El Continental is accessed, as well as the facade that gives entrance to the premises.

Finally, exterior decorations have been built on the Gózquez farm, in San Martín de la Vega. They occupy about 3,000 square meters and include the house of Baena, the new distillery of Ricardo, with its office and laboratory and other episodic rooms.
