ATTO Technology celebrates thirty years of history
The company was founded by Tim Klein and Dave Snell three decades ago. Today it is a reference in storage and network infrastructure and connectivity solutions for environments such as the media and entertainment industry.
The manufacturer ATTO Technology, based in Amherst (New York), celebrates these days three decades of innovation and success.
ATTO is specialized in storage and network infrastructure and connectivity solutions for data-intensive computing environments, with a strong presence in terms of storage connectivity in the media and entertainment industry.
The company was founded by Tim Klein and Dave Snell who left their jobs in 1988 to pursue a vision. Klein and Snell realized that if they sped up access to computer storage, the entire system processed data more quickly. They came up with a technology that dramatically accelerated access times to storage that could be added to existing computer systems.
The company began with Klein and Snell working in Klein's living room before moving to the University at Buffalo Technology Incubator a year later. After relocating and expanding several times, ATTO moved to its high-tech headquarters in Amherst, where they remain to this day.
Over the years, ATTO has played a key role in improving high-speed storage connections in film production. In the 1990s, ATTO was among the companies that changed the way movies were created, from digital animation to CGI effects, from editing to distribution.
Other environments in which ATTO technology is essential are in banking or artificial intelligence applications. ATTO high-speed storage technology is an integral part of the advanced networking hardware that processes much of that data.
Tim Klein, President and CEO of ATTO, commented that "Celebrating thirty years of success would not be possible without recognizing all of the past, present and future employees who have contributed to our success as industry leaders. We also want to thank each and every ATTO customer, whether one-time purchaser or loyal customer, who helped us get to where we are today."
“Sin embargo, por muy agradecidos que estemos durante los últimos 30 años, deben saber que estamos aún más entusiasmados para los próximos años. Esperamos con interés el desafío de mantener nuestra reputación como líderes de la industria en las esferas de M&E y TI”, concluye Klein.
