HKR chooses Lawo for its new studios in Zagreb

HKR has installed Lawo Crystal mixing surfaces, a Power Core DSP engine and VSC Relay software, the integration of which was carried out by AVC Group.

The Croatian Catholic Radio (HKR) has completed the launch of its new studies in Zagreb developed based on Lawo mixing and routing technology.

HKR has installed the Lawo Crystal mixing surfaces, and motor DSP Power Core and the software VSC Relay, whose integration carried out AVC Group.

Established in 1997, HKR is one of half a dozen radio channels in Croatia licensed to broadcast nationally. Programming from its Zagreb headquarters is heard nationwide through terrestrial and online distribution.

Zeljko Pemper of AVC Group Zagreb comments that "after twenty years, HKR moved its studios to a new building. They chose Lawo for its reputation for flexibility and reliability. And when broadcasting to a national audience, there is no room for error."

The station has installed four Crystal mixing consoles with compact motors. The main studio and redundant back-up studio are equipped with 12-fader Crystal consoles, with dual 4-fader Crystal working in the two production and editing suites, with VisTool GUI Builder software providing context-sensitive displays for each of the four consoles.

A Power Core DSP engine is used to provide system-wide routing and audio I/O, along with virtual Relay VSC audio interface cards over PC with a Ravenna/AES67 audio over IP network.

Tomi Trsar emphasizes that "Power Core has proven to be the centerpiece of the entire build.
