De Monfort University trusts ATG Danmon for the integration of its new broadcast studios

ATG Danmon has been the company in charge of designing and integrating the new broadcast studio of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering of the De Montfort University (Leicester).

The objective of the british educational institution was to build one of the “most modern” recording studios in the country, which would faithfully reflect a modern production company: HD and SD editing, online servers, network-connected archiving, file-based workflow… The university decided to trust the experience of ATG Danmon to give shape to these facilities, named by the institution as Creative Technology Studios (CTG).

The final project of the De Montfort University, as transferred Paul Shonfeld, sales manager of ATG Danmon, covered the installation, configuration and commissioning of a large “multi-definition video production facility, a technical control room, video and audio analysis laboratories, two sound studios, four self-operating radio studios, a radio control room and a highly advanced virtual reality and fused media laboratory.”

In parallel, they were also equipped three audiovisual production classrooms, one of which houses 21 stations course for students to gain experience using the latest high-definition video and audio production software. Each of the other two audiovisual production classrooms has eight workstations, one dedicated to audio and video production with Mac and the other to the use of comparable PC software.

The integration of De Monfort University is completed with equipment that will allow the CTS to carry out research and courses on 3D motion capture, gaze tracking, virtual reality with pressure sensors and stereoscopic images.
