Grupo Multimedios, the first fully virtualized broadcast company in Mexico
Based on Grass Valley technology, Multimedios deploys a fully virtualized social media integration, ingest, playout, and distribution solution.
The Mexican broadcaster Multimedia Group has significantly expanded its investment in production technology and Grass Valley strengthening the close collaboration between the two companies. This implementation will allow you to strengthen your efficiency by expanding your operations and facilities and increasing the quantity and quality of content creation throughout Mexico and the southwestern United States.
In this way, Multimedios becomes the first broadcaster in Mexico with a fully integrated social media integration, ingest, playout, and media distribution solution Virtualized.
Guillermo Franco, technical director of Grupo Multimedios, highlights that "creating and delivering content of the highest quality to our viewers is our main priority, and we require technology and solutions that allow us to do it as smoothly as possible. Grass Valley demonstrates unwavering dedication and is a true partner for us with top-notch solutions, strong collaboration, and reliable support to keep us at the forefront of innovation. Transmissions in Mexico City in early August, for example, grew from 11 to 50 million homes, reaching nearly half of all of Mexico, a historic milestone we could not have achieved without Grass Valley."
"As we navigate the ever-evolving media landscape, virtualizing our production suite is an important step for our business and Grass Valley worked with us to ensure we chose the right approach for our needs," he adds.
Grupo Multimedios implemented the latest version of GV Stratus with GVRE Transcoder for fast media decoding and a comprehensive social media manager that takes care of the publishing, tracking, and monitoring of social media content. Users can customize the full range of production tools based on function, to increase efficiency and produce news programming in the shortest possible time.
As part of the upgrade of its studio facilities, Grupo Multimedios installed a Grass Valley production mixer Karrera K-Frame S-series in each of its four studios in Monterrey, one studio in Mexico City and one in León to support local productions. In the coming months they will add new mixers to other studios.
They have also implemented the GV Korona K-Frame V-series, to increase flexibility and efficiency thanks to multi-format support, including 1080p and 4K UHD. Operational efficiency is also increased, as the switchers maintain similar modes of operation and allow program files to be shared between different models.
Grupo Multimedios' news production centers have been equipped with the K2 Summit 3G Production Client, series cameras LDX 82 and cameras Focus 75 Live. All this will be implemented in Grupo Multimedios' studios and OB trucks, respectively. The Focus 75 Live camera is user-switchable, capturing in Full HD 1080i or 720p. LDX Series cameras offer a new level of operational flexibility thanks to their ability to upgrade as production and business needs change, ensuring that Grupo Multimedios captures high-quality content in the required format from the start of the production process.
Nahuel Villegas, vice president of Grass Valley for Latin America and the Caribbean, points out that "with media organizations under increased pressure to deliver better quality content to more platforms with tighter budgets, infrastructures and workflows must be agile and flexible. Virtualization holds great promise as it increases efficiency, and we couldn't be happier collaborating with Grupo Multimedios to revolutionize their news production and better equip them for what the future holds. We are very proud that Grupo Multimedios has chosen to enrich its long-standing collaborative relationship with Grass Valley. The value of this complete solution is evident by its unmatched ease of use and video quality, and it will also stand the test of time with its agility and scalability as Grupo Multimedios expands its operations and facilities to deliver even more high-quality content."
