Ultravisión implements a multi-screen service based on Nagra's Conax Go Live
The new service from the Mexican television operator combines live national and international television channels, incorporating start-over and catch-up functions.
The pay television operator Ultravision, part of the Ultra Telecom group, has become the first cloud implementation of the solution Conax Go Live of Nagra in Mexico.
UltraTV, Ultravisión's new multi-screen service (expected to launch this month) will allow its subscribers to watch the best linear pay television channels in Puebla, Mexico through their iOS or Android mobile devices. It will also offer Advanced features like start-over, catch-up and trick-play with full Electronic Program Guide (EPG) functionality on linear television channels enabling 24/7 service.
Patricio Zorrilla, CEO of Ultravisión, points out that "we wanted to launch a multi-screen IPTV service very quickly, without the complexity. Cost-effectiveness was a key consideration in a market with low average revenue per user like Mexico and after evaluating different options, we decided to move forward with the Conax GO Live solution that is delivered as a service that runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and integrates with Conax Contego, our content security platform. It is the perfect extension that allows us to quickly and easily launch streaming channels. linear television on consumers' mobile devices.

Nagra allows the new Ultravision UltraTV service pre-integrated with the best technologies on the market from its technological partners to offer a comprehensive IPTV solution on multiple screens which was ready for implementation in less than 30 days. The solution includes a content management system and generic applications for iOS and Android mobile devices.
End users can also cast content to a television screen using Google Cast or Apple AirPlay. The Conax Go Live solution, which runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS), operates on the Conax Contego unified content security platform and supports all major native DRMs.
Conax Contego is a highly flexible platform that was designed with operational efficiency and cost optimization in mind, and supports all distribution network technologies, consumer devices and security clients from a unified management system. Conax Contego can be deployed on-premises, from a private or public cloud, managed by the pay TV operator or as a fully managed service.
