AP launches Media Port, a news service based on files over IP that avoids traditional newsletter sending and allows access to the piece as it is completed.

Associated PressThe Associated Press has begun to replace its usual bulletin of audiovisual pieces with a file-based video streaming service that allows the newsroom of any of its clients to connect with the new Media Port to access information in real time for download.

This delivery platform is thus fully integrated into each newsroom's digital production systems allowing users to receive digital video news as separate files, which are ready for download as soon as each footer is finalized. In this way, your clients will not be forced to continuously record the material that AP offered them in the form of hourly bulletins and latest news, since all news becomes 'breaking news' with immediate access.

At the moment, there are already 40 clients who have this service, and it is expected to expand to around 800 in a few months. During the transition to this IP delivery system, customers will be able to continue using the traditional means of continuous recording from the Global Video Wire.
