NASA announces the short finalists of its CineSpace contest at the 4K Summit
NASA and the Houston Film Festival are promoting a contest that encourages creators from around the world to make works based on images captured by the US space agency in its sixty years of life.
Carlos Fontanot, the professional in charge of all aspects related to capturing images in the NASA, presented at the Ultra High Definition world summit, 4K Summit, which closes today at the Digital Content Pole in Malaga the finalists of the fourth call for CineSpace.
This is a project promoted by NASA itself and the Houston Film Festival which encourages creators from around the world to participate in a short film contest based on images captured by the American space agency in its sixty years of life.
Entries must include at least 10% of their footage these real-life images of NASA telescopes and robotic spacecraft exploring our solar system and beyond, as well as those sent from the International Space Station where men and women have been working in outer space for almost two decades.
The short films submitted to the contest, whose 2018 edition is being held this weekend in Houston, cannot last more than ten minutes. NASA accepts works of all genres, including narrative, documentary, comedy, drama, animation, experimental...
In the last edition, 238 works by professionals from 51 countries participated.
