Mexico's largest cable television operator will add more capacity and new time-shift functions to its on-demand television service.

Televisa, the largest cable television operator in Mexico, will expand its current CDN television network with Edgeware, adding more capacity and new time-shift functions to its a la carte service. The new real-time transfer capabilities They will be deployed to more than five hundred thousand subscribers with access to a hundred channels, allowing them to pause and rewind up to three hours of television. The expansion will also allow many viewers of its Izzi TV service to migrate from an old platform and take advantage of the new features.

Carlos Eduardo Romero, Director of Video and Hubs at Izzi, notes that "our viewers expect the best television service available. Having the convenience and flexibility of pausing and rewinding live television is another example of how online television has moved beyond traditional television and offers our customers a more engaging viewing experience."

Televisa has deployed new Edgeware servers to increase its capacity, while the new time-shifting features will also take advantage of existing servers already deployed on the Televisa network, using their cache memory as a ring buffer to store programs across many channels.
