Orange adds FlixOlé and a new Android TV decoder to its television offering

Orange TV advances its new features for next year, among which voice control applications, personalization of the television experience and on-demand video games stand out.

Orange TV completes its television offering with the incorporation of new devices and content. Among Orange's television premieres, the exclusive incorporation of FlixOlé, led by Enrique Cerezo, which is the first Spanish video-on-demand platform that allows unlimited access to an extensive catalog of entertainment for a fixed fee per month, in the style of other on-demand television options that have arrived in Spain in recent months.

For only 2.99 euros per month, the customer will be able to add to the offer they have already contracted (Orange TV Cine y Series, Orange TV Fútbol and/or Movistar Champions League) the complete portfolio of Spanish, European and American cinema from FlixOlé, initially made up of more than 3,000 films and series in HD quality.

In FlixOlé you can choose between classic Spanish films, recent international hits, including the most awarded national films inside and outside our country, international classics, great Spanish productions, recognized European titles of all time... all of this, classified by themes, specials, etc. to make navigation and choice easier for the user.

According to Enrique Cerezo himself, “FlixOlé not only makes the entire history of our cinema available to the public, including works that are impossible to find because they are already out of print, but it is a way to preserve forever our cinematographic history fully restored in HD.”

Access to FlixOlé is integrated into both the Orange TV decoder menu and the platform's apps for mobile devices and Smart TVs.

STB Android

Continuing with its strategy of continuous improvement in the customer experience with its television service, Orange has begun to market a decoder with Android TV system, which makes Orange's television platform the first to integrate it into one of its set top boxes (STB).

Thanks to the incorporation of this software, the new Orange TV device will allow the user to download the apps from the Play Store de Google available for Android TV. Likewise, this system is differentiated from others by the greater agility and simplicity in the integration of third-party applications, which opens up a wide range of use possibilities for Orange customers.

The device includes a useful voice search engine - so the user can easily and immediately find and enjoy their content, as well as an integrated Chromecast to send content to the TV from any compatible Android device.

Additionally, the new decoder, compatible with 4K HDR content, has all the functionalities of the Orange television service (cloud recording, Last 7 days, Start Over, video store, on-demand television...).

A platform that looks to the future

Over the last few months, Orange has also reinforced the technological platform that supports its television service, making it more powerful to always provide the best service to more and more customers (geo-redundant, in a private cloud and already prepared for 4 million customers), regardless of the technology with which they access it.

Among the great advantages of Orange television is quality, currently having a wide range of video stores and 4K channels with Dolby sound. Thanks to the continuous evolution of its platform, Orange was this year the only operator that broadcast the Roland Garros tournament in 4K, and is also the only one that offers the majority of the Match in 4K to its clients.

This renewal will continue in the future, with more innovations to improve the experience of its TV customers, such as the launch of an application to control the voice television service compatible with all types of voice assistants, more compatible devices and browsers, an on-demand video game service, improvements in the search engine and recommendations, or the development of personalized advertising according to the profile of each user.
