Nebras Films integrates Leader's LV7770 and LV7390 rasterizers into its new post-production studios in Riyadh
Supplied by Leader's local partner Jigsaw24, the LV7770 and LV7390 rasterizers will be used as master reference test instruments in the facility's color correction, editing and compositing suites.
Nebras Films, one of the largest providers of film production services in the Middle East, has chosen the LV7390 and LV7770 rasterizers of Leader, for its new post-production studios in Riyadh. Supplied by Jigsaw24, Leader's local partner, the rasterizers will be used as master reference testing instruments in the facility's color correction, editing and compositing suites.
"We are fully operational with eight full-time employees, now complemented by talent from Europe and the Middle East. Our entire operation is file-based, centered around ROOT6 Technology's ContentAgent, which functions as a coordination center. Leader rasterizers allow our editors to check the quality of the video and audio signal at any point in the workflow. Each LV7390 is equipped to support the production and post-production of 4K/UHD programs as well as 4x3G HD-SDI," comments the post-production supervisor, Cian McLysaght.
Kevin Salvidge, Business Development Director at Leader Europe, says: "Five units have been delivered, comprising two LV7390s and three LV7770s. Our rasterizers are very popular for post-production applications, as they offer operators the ability to inspect waveforms, color vectors and signal levels with great precision on a much larger screen than can be accommodated on a portable instrument."
The Leader LV7390 is a compact 1U 3G/HD/SD-SDI rasterizer that can be used to measure up to four source channels simultaneously. It can be deployed for tabletop or rack-mount operations. Designed for easy connection to 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and SD-SDI systems, the rasterizer features full-resolution 3G/HD-SDI and DVI-I raster outputs that allow you to check detailed video and audio parameters on a separate monitor at full 1920 x 1080 HD resolution.
The operator can configure the LV7390 to display waveform, vector, image, audio and SDI status. The screen layout can be customized from a wide range of available settings, including individual full screen or user-defined combinations. These settings can be controlled from the front panel or via a USB pointing device and saved for quick recall. 60 user-definable presets can be accessed. A reference marker can be placed at any position on the raster image.
The LV7390-OP20 4K upgrade enables the LV7390 to support production and post-production of 4K/UHD programs as well as 4x3G HD-SDI. Includes high dynamic range measurement capabilities for ITU.BT.2100 Hybrid Log Gamma, Dolby PQ, and Sony Slog-3 protocols. This capacity plus a footprint of only 1U makes the LV7390 ideal for production environments that cannot accommodate a full-size waveform monitor.
HDR post-production
Also included with the LV7390-OP20 4K HDR upgrade is Cinezone HDR by Leader. It uses false colors to display areas of the image that extend into HDR, so it can be used on non-HDR monitors. Potential problems can be identified quickly and easily without the need for specialized technical expertise. Cinezone HDR reduces the need for rework or costly additional hours of post-production. It allows producers to acquire content in the HDI while ensuring that the content will not require additional modification to standard dynamic range distribution. The Cinezone HDR option is also compatible with HD formats.
Leader's LV 7770 raster multi-SDI signal monitor allows production and post-production staff, as well as television and facilities engineering supervisors, to check the quality of their video and audio content on a screen much larger than what can be accommodated on a portable instrument. It has two 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI inputs with auto detection and can test a total of 17 video signal formats ranging from standard definition to high definition 720p, 1080i and 1080p. Accepts three-level sync or NTSC or PAL blackburst as an external reference. The selected input is brought back online and can be powered downstream.
Fully controllable from its front panel, via Ethernet or from an optional dedicated remote control panel, the LV 7770 employs a user interface essentially identical to that of the existing LV 5770, LV 5800 and LV 5700A. This ergonomic similarity allows operators to easily move between devices.
The LV 7770 feature set encompasses waveform monitoring, vectorscope, maximum video level display, external sync/external sync phase difference, audio, image and data functions. Screens can be viewed full screen or in assignable combinations. Extensive error detection and error logging functions are incorporated, including range detection and adjustable error thresholds. Digital Analysis Screens Include data download as well as equivalent cable length readings.
Also available within the LV 7770 is Leader's exclusive Cinelite II Relative Brightness Analyzer, 3D Assist Stereoscopic Signal Evaluator, EIA-708/EIA-608 Closed Caption Data Display, Active Format Description Data Display, optional Physical Layer Test, and Auxiliary Data Display.
