The HbbTv standard television platform of RTVE, Atresmedia and Mediaset begins its regular service with the forecast of implementation in more than two million televisions by the end of the year.

After a few months of testing, LovesTv, the platform under HbbTv standard driven by the public Spanish Radio Television and the private ones Atresmedia y Mediaset It began its regular service this Wednesday.

From now on, the user will only have to press the blue button on the remote control to open a whole world of possibilities offered by the hybrid television.

The content platform, developed by Cellnex Telecom, is now accessible on more than two million televisions thanks to its availability in new television models from the main manufacturers.

Available on TVs with HbbTV 1.5 technology or higher, LovesTv can now be used by users on some models from the main manufacturers (LG, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sony and Vestel) for free and without the need to search, download or install any application, since its infrastructure is part of the DTT standard. The platform will continue to expand the list of compatible models and manufacturers.

In its official presentation, with public and private television operators rowing for the first time in the same technological direction, it was clear that LovesTv intends to be a platform open to other broadcasters since it represents an added value commitment to the free-to-air television offer with a more complete user experience through the services offered by HbbTV technology.

Features

It currently offers the visualization of the last week's content, the possibility of starting a program from its beginning even if it had already started in linear broadcast, an improved programming guide and the option to recommend content, among other functionalities, which will be increased in subsequent developments, such as territorial disconnections and digital advertising.

RTVE, Atresmedia and Mediaset España have started a joint self-promotion campaign adapted to the content of each group, inviting viewers to discover if their televisions are adapted to HbbTV technology, in order to show its current possibilities.

LovesTv also has a web with information about the blue button that gives access to the platform, description of the functionalities, the list of compatible televisions, the menu or answers to the most frequently asked questions.
