The arrival of Netflix a Movistar It is already a reality. Starting today, Movistar customers will have a new value proposition that incorporates advantages in contracting the new Fusion packages that include Netflix and that will give access to more data consumption on the mobile phone and an additional mobile line.

María Jesús Almazor, CEO of Telefónica Spain, and María Ferreras, vice president of business development at Netflix for EMEA, have today presented the new proposal for the integration of Netflix into the Movistar offer, through which customers will be able to access Netflix with a new user experience.

This global agreement, which was announced in May of this year through a video by the president of Telefónica, José María Álvarez-Pallete, and the CEO of Netflix, Reed Hastings, means for Telefónica to contribute to reinforcing the objective of having the most complete content offering possible on all the company's multichannel platforms.

For María Jesús Almazor, "we want to offer our clients the best content proposal, both our own and those of third parties. In the same way that we integrate channels, today we take a step further by integrating a platform, entering a new world to provide a simpler content consumption experience."

"We want to bring the best entertainment to Spanish homes and for people to enjoy their favorite series, movies or documentaries. Today's agreement and the new possibility of easily accessing Netflix through the Telefónica platform makes this a reality," said María Ferreras, vice president of business development at Netflix for EMEA.

New plans

Users of the new Movistar plans will be able to access Netflix and enjoy all the successful series, movies and documentaries such as Stranger Things, Narcos:Mexico, Cable Girls, Christmas Chronicles, ROME in addition to content such as Madrid Burns, Giants, The Plague, Shame, Velvet, which has already triumphed in Movistar.

Starting December 11, users with the Fusion Total Plus, Total and Selection modalities will be able to access new products that will include Netflix in HD or UHD quality. These plans also incorporate one more gigabyte for each existing mobile line with unlimited data and an additional mobile line.

Those who are already Movistar customers will have a special promotion that will allow them to access Netflix, for three months, at no additional cost. New customers who sign up for the Fusion Total Plus X2 modality will also have a promotion where they will enjoy all football, sports, series, movies and Netflix, for 85 euros per month for three months. In no case will there be a commitment to permanence.

The integration of Netflix into the Movistar+ interface provides a new experience to the user since they will be able to access Netflix, both in the different sections of the interface and through a search engine.

Movistar customers who are also Netflix customers will only have to migrate their Netflix account to one of the Fusion modalities that includes this content. For their part, Netflix users who sign up for the new Fusion plans will maintain their profiles, as they have been configured until now, in addition to using the same remote control to search for content from both platforms and having payments integrated into a single invoice.
