In the words of Paco Cabezas "returning to Seville, to the South, to the streets where I grew up, to shoot this film is a dream come true. I have learned a lot in my work in the Hollywood industry, so each series, from Penny Dreadful to American Gods, has helped me grow as a director. And I was dying to find a powerful, exciting story, full of action, that is not only made for the Spanish public but with an international vocation to tell in my land."

Enrique Lopez Lavinge, producer at Apache Films, points out “what attracts me most about working with Paco, a Spanish director who has cut his teeth in the international new fiction market and in Hollywood, are the mechanisms to translate a story as exciting as Bye to a global viewer who demands a narrative that combines the intimate with the sense of spectacle.”

For its part, both Ivan Losada, CEO of Sony Pictures, and Laine Kline, Executive Vice President of Sony Pictures International Productions, agree that “Sometimes the smallest places can host the biggest stories that connect with viewers around the world, and both Paco and Enrique represent for us that kind of extremely talented director and producer with a global and unique vision of the stories.”

Produced by Apache Films, Sony Pictures International Productions and La Claqueta PC with the collaboration of Televisión Española, Movistar+, ICAA and Junta de Andalucía, filming will take place in Seville over eight weeks. The film will hit movie theaters throughout Spain at the end of 2019.
