Movistar+ and Globomedia begin production of 'Paraíso'

La nueva serie original de Movistar+ está dirigida por Fernando González Molina (‘Palmeras en la nieve’, ‘Tres metros sobre el cielo’, ‘Tengo ganas de ti’) quien ha concebido este ficción junto a Ruth García y David Oliva.

Movistar+ and the producer Globomedia han dado comienzo a la producción de la serie Paradise. Una ambiciosa ficción que combina los géneros de drama juvenil, ciencia ficción y misterio.

Paradise will consist of 8 50 minute episodes de duración cada uno que se estrenarán en Movistar+ en 2020. En la actualidad se encuentra en fase de preproducción, con la apertura del proceso de casting y la búsqueda de localizaciones.

Created by Fernando González Molina (Three meters above the sky, I want you, Palm trees in the snow), Ruth Garcia (The incident, The protected, The boarding school, Paco's men) y David Oliva (The incident, The protected, Paco's men, The Serrano), the series will be under the direction of Fernando González Molina, director of some of the highest-grossing films in the history of Spain as well as great classics of television fiction such as the ship, Paco's men o Luna.

“Paradise is born from our desire to tell a fantastic story that connects with the references of our adolescence: Spielberg's films, the series V, but also Summer Blue o Companions. And connect them with the stories that I have liked to tell in the cinema: epic, emotional stories that seek, above all, the enjoyment of the viewer. Paradise It is a trip to entertainment cinema that we were passionate about and made us dedicate ourselves to this, but also a story about loss and the difficulty of being a teenager when you are different,” commented Fernando González Molina.

The series dates the fiction to the end of summer 1992 in a town on the Levantine coast. Sandra, Eva and Malena, 15 years old, disappear in a nightclub without leaving a trace. The police don't seem to be looking in the right direction, so Javi, Sandra's little brother, begins an investigation with Quino and Álvaro, his best friends, and Zeta, the class bully. Together they discover that those who have their sister are not from this world.
