Christie's film projectors illuminate the new Chilean multiplex Muvix La Fábrica
The operation is part of the agreement reached by the Syem Group and Christie in 2007 to equip 40 theaters throughout the country with branded film projectors.
The Chilean cinema chain Muvix has acquired eight film projectors from Christie for your new multiplex The Factory, located in Santiago de Chile, which will be the first in the country to have a room Dolby Atmos.
Muvix and its sister chain Cine Star belong to the Syem Group, the only exhibition company in the country with Chilean capital. While Cine Star focuses on small cities of between 40,000 and 70,000 inhabitants with cinemas of no more than four rooms, Muvix, on the other hand, is located in the country's large commercial developments.
The operation is part of the agreement reached by the Syem Group and Christie in 2007 to equip 40 rooms throughout the country with branded movie projectors.
Sebastian Martinez, CEO and founder of Muvix, comments that “we have tested the Christie projectors that we already have operating in quite extreme conditions and they have delivered excellent performance and visual quality without comparison.”
“They are very reliable teams, and we also have a very good human relationship with the Christie team, so Muvix and Cine Star will continue to trust this brand as their visual partner,” he adds.
The new complex, which will open to the public in June of this year, will be located in the La Fabrica Patio Outlet shopping center. It will have eight screens with a total capacity of 1,596 seats. It will have a PLF room (which will be called AERA) with a 19 meter screen illuminated by a Christie CP4230. This room will be the first in the country with Dolby Atmos sound. The other screens in the complex will be equipped with Christie CP2215 and Christie CP2220 projectors.
"The Christie 4K projector that we will have in our PLF cinema will allow us to have the greatest definition and a better experience for the consumer. And for us, the experience of our audience is the most important thing. That is why we have worked hard together with a professional and solid team to be able to reach the Chilean market with the best quality and technology available in the world," says Martínez.
Diego Lopez, general manager NOLA and Andean Region of Christie, is very happy that "Muvix continues to trust Christie for its new complexes. They have always been very concerned about all the technical improvements and innovations, which is why they require a quality standard in line with what Christie offers. So we are delighted that they feel completely safe in our hands."
