Lawo adds support for compressed OTT formats to its V__matrix vm_dmv multiviewer application
It will allow production (ST2110/ST2022-6) and compressed streaming (HEVC/H.264/MPEG/OTT) formats to be displayed on the same screen for complete end-to-end visibility.
The new decoding engine LiveView of Theirs will allow your solution multipantalla V__matrix vm_dmv display production (ST2110/ST2022-6) and compressed streaming (HEVC/H.264/MPEG/OTT) formats on the same screen for complete end-to-end visibility. The LiveView decoding engine is a pure software application that runs on COTS x86 servers or as a virtualized appliance.
The Lawo V__matrix vm_dmv distributed multi-display now offers Full support for compressed and uncompressed 4K/UHD, 3G, HD and SD formats. Linearly scale to any size by adding more V__matrix C100 compute blades. The integrated IP capability and software-defined nature of the compute blades make V__matrix a future-proof multiviewer solution for any project whether in baseband SDI, hybrid or pure IP.
It supports embedded and discrete audio and works with pixel-perfect tiling with ultra-low latency. Intuitive drag and drop designs are easily made with Lawo's “theWALL”.
Lawo's vm_dmv is a distributed multi-screen in which several modules They connect to the network. These modules can be hosted in the same V__matrix framework, in different frameworks or even in different geographical locations joining forces as long as they are networked via IP. Each vm_dmv has an input stage capable of receiving up to 24 sources of any combination of 4K/3G/HD/SD that is limited only by physical (up to 18 SDI inputs) or network (2x 40GbE) I/O. These sources are reduced by vm_dmv and returned to the network as Lawo LiveViewTM streams.
In parallel with the input stage, each vm_dmv also has an output stage capable of creating up to eight 3G tiles (or two UHD tiles) with up to 64 sources/PIPs each (128 each in UHD). The output stage compiles a mosaic of the required LiveViewTM streams, automatically taking into account the size the user requests for the PIPs. The output stage can use LiveViewTM streams that it has generated by its own input stage or by subscribing to other LiveViewTM streams from the network.
Since any vm_dmv can use any LiveView stream from any other vm_dmv on the network, it scales linearly with each vm_dmv that is added to the network, resulting in an “infinitely” expandable and distributed multiviewer.
Last but not least: the application of this solution also significantly reduces rack space, weight and power consumption. Additionally, Lawo's V__matrix platform is already known for its software-defined functionality, where C100 blades can be switched at runtime by loading different virtual modules.
