Lawo vm_avp v__matrix

A new vm_avp update opens numerous doors for users of the software-defined V_matrix C100 ecosystem. Theirs.

Vm_avp (formerly known as vm_streaming) has been enhanced with important features, most of which will be provided by different licenses. Among these new functions, the option stands out +ab_dsk, which adds video mixing and encoding a V__matrix. This unlocks eight @3G video mix/key instances per vm_avp instance. +ab_dsk also allows you to work in four modes: AB Mix (mixture between two sources), AB Mix Independent (font mix on color matte), LUMA Keyer (linear embedding) or LUMA Keyer Advanced (linear embedding that supports shaped embedding).

On the other hand, the new license +tc_gen generates different timecode options from PTP or other sources, as well as providing up to three independent generators. The generated auxiliary time code (ATC) formats, which can be embedded in the TX and SDI outputs, include VITC1, VITC2 and LTC. Linear Time Code (LTC) can be generated as a digital audio signal.

There's more: the option +VC2 has been enhanced so that vm_avp can receive 20 ultra-low latency VC-2/DiracPro video codecs supporting single link transmission as well as compression ratios up to 6,6:1 y 8:1 for monitoring purposes, with less than 20 lines end-to-end delay. This, according to Lawo, makes it a “great complement” to remote production scenarios in which the bandwidth is limited and the Minimum delay is essential. Finally, the license +FS already existing allows the Frame sync and delay for video, as well as the Sample rate and delay conversion for audio. In response to numerous requests from V__matrix users, the video frame sync/delay processing block now includes a mode for 12G square division (SQD) fusion.

Thanks to these new features and licenses, vm_avp pasa a ser capaz de ofrecer hasta 20 transmisores y receptores de vídeo, 128 transmisores y receptores de audio, 50 barras cruzadas de vídeo, 20 barras cruzadas de audio-vídeo, 25 barras cruzadas de audio, 24 manejadores de retardo de vídeo, 64 manejadores de retardo de audio, 8 instancias de corrección de color, 8 instancias de mezcla/clave de vídeo, 24 convertidores de frecuencia de muestreo, un motor de mezcla descendente de audio y una etapa de ganancia de audio digital en todas las salidas de las barras cruzadas.

El nuevo vm_avp y sus opciones de licencia revisadas ya están disponibles tanto para instalaciones nuevas como para las ya existentes en salas técnicas, centros de nube privados y unidades móviles.

Stephan Türkay, director de producto senior de infraestructura de medios de Lawo, valora las nuevas mejoras para vm_avp: “La aplicación vm_avp de Lawo para la V__matrix C100 ha pasado de ser una gran pasarela IP a toda una maquinaria de procesamiento de vídeo y audio basada en IP con todas las funciones necesarias.
