RTVE delivers the diplomas of the First Call for Impulsa Visión Research Aid
Nathalie Alejandra Rodríguez, Beatriz Gutiérrez Caneda and Ana María Silva Ortiz have been recognized for their work on 'User experience in the broadcast environment'.
This Tuesday the accreditation diplomas were delivered to the three projects selected in the I Impulsa Visión RTVE Call for Research Aid in the Royal Academy of Engineering of Madrid. An RTVE initiative aimed at recognizing students who, developing their official Master's studies in Spanish Universities, carry out their final work on a topic proposed by the Corporation of interest to the audiovisual sector and the scientific community.
Furthermore, RTVE wants to recognize the extraordinary work of the university departments and the teachers who direct the Master's Final Projects, which for the majority of students constitute the first major research project of their professional careers.
In the case of the First Call for the 2018/2019 academic year, the work has focused on the User experience in the broadcast environment.
The deputy director of Management of the RTVE Innovation Center, Esteban Mayoral, has presented the three selected projects. In the category of Analysis of present or future services offered to citizens, the winner has been Nathalie Alejandra Rodríguez Egas, from the Complutense University of Madrid, for his work Strategy for the future of OTT platforms. In the category of Systems, models or services for measuring, improving or analyzing service quality, Beatriz Gutiérrez Caneda, from the University of Santiago de Compostela, for his work Immersive journalism in Europe: usability of applications and proposal for improvement. And in the category of Usability of services, applications or web services, Ana María Silva Ortíz, from the European University of Madrid, for his work Design of an interactive audiovisual newsletter to improve the mobile user experience according to new consumer habits.
The event, attended by academic authorities, European institutions, representatives of the Administration and public and private corporations, was chaired by the president of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Elías Fereres; the Secretary of State for Universities, Research, Development and Innovation, Ángeles Heras; the Corporate General Director of RTVE, Federico Montero; the RAING academic Miguel Ángel Lagunas and the director of Technological Strategy and Digital Innovation of RTVE, Pere Vila.
The aid, worth 10,000 euros, is awarded jointly to the student-researcher (7,000 euros) and to the Department/School or Faculty (3,000 euros). The winners and the directors of the TFM have collected their accreditation diplomas from the members of the presidential board.
RTVE representatives have announced that, after the success of this call, the second, which will take place during the next academic year, will be aimed at proposals on the 5G technology applied to the audiovisual sector.
The Research Aid calls are one of the pillars, together with Impulsa Startups and Impulsa Visión Empresas, of the Impulsa Visión RTVE program that reinforce the Corporation's commitment to an open innovation model, unique in its kind, in collaboration with the university world, with Spanish and European administrations, with audiovisual startups and with public and private companies interested in the development of the Media sector.
