Netflix exclusively signs Mexican director Manolo Caro
The creator of the popular series 'The House of Flowers' and box office hits such as 'Perfect Strangers' and 'The Immoral Life of the Ideal Couple' will develop new television projects exclusively for Netflix.
Netflix has closed an exclusive agreement with the Mexican director Manolo Caro, creator of the popular Netflix original series The flower house and box office hits like Perfect strangers y The immoral life of the ideal couple. The agreement provides for Caro to develop new television projects exclusively for Netflix.
Currently, Manolo Caro is working on the second and third seasons of The flower house and the next project to be launched as part of the agreement is someone has to die, a three-episode limited series set in 1950s Spain, created by Manolo Caro, written by Monika Revilla, Fernando Pérez and Manolo Caro and produced by Rafael Ley, María José Córdova, Carlos Taibo and Manolo Caro. The story begins when a young man, after being called by his parents, must return home from Mexico to meet his fiancée, but the town is surprised when he returns accompanied by Lázaro, a mysterious ballet dancer. In order to stay ahead of the oppressive government, the group realizes that someone has to die.

Manolo Caro is a film and theater director, producer and screenwriter. Caro is the first Mexican director to appear for three consecutive years in the Top Ten at the Mexican box office. Together with the producer Rafael Ley he founded the production company Night Cinema Night which has positioned itself as a benchmark in intelligent comedy where the management of aesthetics is essential, the stories are universal, the characters are three-dimensional and the actors who give them life share the same vision.
