The Javis at Atresmedia Studios

Atresmedia Studios has closed an exclusivity agreement with Javier Ambrosi and Javier Calvo (The Javis). In this way, all new projects Latin Sum, the production company of these two creators, will go hand in hand with Atresmedia Studios.

The agreement contemplates any type of audiovisual production, both fiction and entertainment, and whether for third-party operators or for Atresmedia channels or platforms.

Ignacio Corrales, general director of Atresmedia Studios explains the new stage in which the Company is entering after its first successful year: "Atresmedia Studios takes a new step in its strategy, surrounding itself with the best talent and doing it exclusively. This will be one of its great added values and differentials in the market"

Corrales has explained the importance of this agreement for Atresmedia Studios: “Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo have demonstrated their own voice, they have managed to combine success and talent and we are going to work with them to develop, together, productions with a seal that is as recognizable as it is unique. We intend to grow with the best and, with this association, we want to surprise the market by offering original talent supported by our editorial capacity and the strength of the Atresmedia group.

¨Atresmedia Studios has been active for a year and we have more than met the objectives we had set for ourselves, having developed productions with national and international projection. We have to continue down that path, but it is time to go one step further and attract exclusively the best talent,” concludes Corrales.

This operation strengthens the successful relationship between Atresmedia and Javier Ambrosi and Javier Calvo, which already in 2016 gave rise to the acclaimed series Paquita Salas.

“We believe that our way of understanding fiction fits very well with that of Atresmedia Studios and we feel that this is a great opportunity to tell different, exciting and free stories from the best of the best,” said Javier Calvo.

Javier Ambrossi, for his part, has assured: "Our intention with this agreement is to grow as creators, scriptwriters, directors and producers. And also to do so in a generational direction. We are excited to be able to make this journey"

With this announcement, Atresmedia Studios consolidates its commitment to the creative talent of the Spanish audiovisual sector and starts 2019 strong, after the grand premiere of 'El Embaradero', the series produced in collaboration with Vancouver Media for Movistar+.

Last December, Amazon Prime Video premiered the series exclusively in Spain, Latin America and the US. Little coincidences, another project from the Atresmedia Studios factory.

Winners of the Ondas Award, two Feroz Awards, the Fotogramas de Plata and nominated for the Goya for Best New Direction and Best Adapted Screenplay, Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo are the creators of two of the most powerful brands that have best connected with the public in Spain in recent years: the theatrical musical and subsequent film The Call; or the cult television series Paquita Salas, now in production on its third season for Netflix.
