Alfonso Arús signs for Atresmedia

LaSexta is already preparing a program for the presenter that will be released soon. Since 2002, until a few weeks ago, he presented 'Arucitys' (2012 Ondas Award) on the Catalan regional television 8Tv.

Atresmedia has signed the journalist Alfonso Arús to soon present a program in LaSexta. Before closing this agreement, Arús maintained conversations with Mediaset Spain with a view to their incorporation that ultimately did not prosper.

"I am glad that a commitment that was made a long time ago and that, today, can finally be made public can be made official. The passion for a new adventure, the excellent human treatment, the solidity of a project, the coherence of a model, the stability enjoyed by the presenters and, why not say it, the enormous enthusiasm that those responsible for the group have conveyed to me have made it very easy to make the decision," said Alfonso Arús.

The journalist admits “feeling happy to return home, to my house. After 24 seasons, I return with more wrinkles but also with more enthusiasm, more energy, more conviction, more emotion and more gratitude. “With enormous desire to once again be one of this great family that is Atresmedia.”

Arús explains the reason for his decision to join the team of professionals at Atresmedia Televisión: "I understand that in the world of television, where almost everything is bought with money, it is difficult for some to accept that a professional opts for a project, for reasons unrelated to the economic offer. My 16 years at the helm of Arucitys on 8Tv, a channel to which I will always be grateful, which imaginatively makes up for its modest resources, and my 8 years on TVE 2 as producer and director of The Rondo, a space with a very tight budget, show that countless small (or large) details, both personal and professional, have, at least for me, much more weight than a purely economic issue, when making a decision. This house opted for me, and for maintaining the spirit and human team of Arucitys, from the first moment. And this is priceless.”

Regarding the space that the journalist will present in LaSexta, he explains that "from today we set out to design a program model that, for sure, will be consistent with my way of understanding television and will maintain the spirit of the one I have been directing for so long. I hope it likes it. Due to desire and effort, it will not be left."

Beginnings at Antena 3 Radio

Alfonso Arús began his professional career in radio at Antena 3 Radio and Radio 80 Serie Oro from where he jumped to Cadena Rato (today Onda Cero) with the program Arús with milk (1989 Ondas Award) which was later broadcast on the newborn M80 Radio.

On television, his first job was the comedy contest The house through the window (1989, in La 2) and First Videos (The 1). In 1992, he presented on Antena 3 On the attack (national version of Strength Barça which he presented on TV3) and later El Chou (1994). Since 2002, until a few weeks ago, it presented Arucitys (2012 Ondas Award) on the Catalan regional television 8Tv.
