Mono Plus of Thailand has updated its emission system Channel-in-a-Box latest generation of PlayBox Neo. A PlayBox Neo customer since 2016, Mono Plus offers a wide range of content on its Movie Plus, Music Plus and Series Plus networks that broadcast through cable, terrestrial, satellite and IPTV networks.

Khajohnsak Thanomjit, deputy director of the broadcast and studio department at Mono Plus, comments that "our existing PlayBox Neo system has served us very faithfully. Our engineering partner, Central Solution, offered to demo the latest version and we were very impressed with the additional features it offered, including the ability to upscale streaming from HD to 4K UHD when it fits our business plan. “Reliable core equipment is essential to our operation, along with the ability to securely integrate with third-party devices.”

“The upgraded system includes two HD Channel-in-a-Box systems, each with SafeBox Neo configured as primary and backup. These have integral encoders that allow direct export in XDCAM-MXF file format. “We also provide refresher training to demonstrate the additional versatility of the next-generation software that has earned the approval of many of our customers,” he adds. Designed to operate unattended 24 hours a day, PlayBox Neo Channel-in-a-Box systems can also be operated manually. The latest update adds UHD capabilities to the core content delivery system. New features include a streaming input that supports HTTP, HTTP Secure, UDP, RTMP, MMS, MMSH and YouTube. Improvements have also been added to the RTMP streaming output, allowing for easy web streaming. A virtual outlet is also added that supports multiple instances. Multi-channel ad insertion systems are also available. Improvements have also been made to the clip trimmer and audio level control. AirBox Neo Channel-in-a-Box systems are designed to operate unattended 24/7. They can also be operated manually, including the ability to handle live performance.

SafeBox Neo replicates remote content to local broadcast server folders for secure transmission. The latest version implements a new graphical interface and significantly faster processing for moving primary or copied content to playout and central storage servers. Additionally, a new workflow routine protects content that is overwritten. Expired daily schedule content is automatically deleted or moved to a predefined folder for manual deletion or archiving. Deletion can be done automatically or by manually approving deletion lists. Specific protection can also be assigned to files to prevent them from being deleted from network sources. SafeBox Neo can operate in playlist mode or standalone mode.
