The role they are playing 5 Big (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Google) will be examined by María Rua Aguete, who handles data collected by the more than 13,000 consultants that the British IHS Markit has spread around the world.

The Malaga Observatory has become a national reference event in which, in two days and 25 conferences, the developments that have occurred each year on the subject are addressed in a multidisciplinary manner. Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, eSports, Video Games, Artificial Intelligence

Another topic of interest at this year's edition of the Malaga Observatory is the role that the cloud will play in the development of video games, and more specifically consoles.

According to calculations by the consulting firm IHS Markit, the market for cloud gaming Last year it moved 234 million dollars and it is expected that in 2023 it will exceed 1.5 billion in revenue. This spectacular rise is related, above all, to the improvement in communication speeds (5G) and new content.

“The competitive difference in the next wave of cloud gaming services will focus on two key areas: cloud infrastructure and content,” notes a report. Piers Harding-Rolls, director of gaming research and analysis at IHS Markit.

This leaves the great dominators of the cloud computing business, such as Amazon (Twich), Microsoft (XBox) and Google, in an advantageous position, which can use the power of its extensive network of data centers to globally deploy its service.

The other challenge is the content. And it is not enough to create a platform in which the gaming experience is excellent if there are no major titles that lead players to connect to it.
