Antena 3 will adapt the '5 Gold Rings' contest
Originally broadcast in Holland, Atresmedia will adapt the format in collaboration with Globomedia (The Mediapro Studio) with Jorge Fernández as host.
Three couples, several questions projected on a large screen and a succulent cash prize. It seems simple, but things get complicated when you not only have to know the correct answer, but also know where it is on the screen. The ring game is the new contest that Atresmedia TV, in collaboration with Globomedia (The Mediapro Studio), produces for Antena 3.
The contest will be presented by Jorge Fernández, one of the biggest names in television entertainment. In front of The wheel of luck For 13 consecutive years, the presenter manages to turn the morning contest into one of the most watched programs every morning.
This new format is an adaptation of the Dutch 5 Gold Rings, tested internationally in many countries such as Australia, France, Greece, Israel, Russia, the United States, Vietnam, Thailand and Saudi Arabia. In the program, three couples who have to have some type of bond between the members of each of them, compete to win a great prize. During the program, they will accumulate money to be able to take it with them at the end of the contest.
Jorge Fernández is in charge of asking all kinds of questions on an LED screen located on the ground. Contestants must answer the questions by placing a ring on the screen in the place where they think the correct answer is. For them, they must measure their knowledge, but also their logic and precision. And the rings vary in size depending on the round and on many occasions they will be so small that the contestants will need great cunning.
The ring game It is a format based on visual acuity. It consists of six rounds, five in which they will accumulate money, a grand final phase in which they will try to take what they have won home. It is played in turns. When the presenter asks the question, the playing couple must place their ring on the correct answer. If they get it right, they will accumulate money. If they fail, another couple will have the option to rebound.
The theme of the questions revolves around common places, geography, the human body or historical monuments. And the game is designed to, in addition to having fun with the contestants' decisions, to try to participate from home trying to guess where the correct answer is. It must be taken into account that the difficulty of the questions increases as the program progresses, since the circumference of the ring decreases. Therefore, the prize that contestants can win varies in each program.
