Cinema in Progress 36 will present six debut films in San Sebastián
The industry activity, which will be held on September 23, 24 and 25, will show productions from Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Uruguay.
Six debut works have been selected in Cinema in Construction 36, among a total of 185 productions. The first works are The red tree by Joan Gómez (Colombia – Panama – France), Hilda's vacation by Agustín Banchero (Uruguay – Brazil), Madalena by Madiano Marcheti (Brazil), Mixtec Knot from Ángeles Cruz (Mexico) and The Paths of my Father by Mauricio Osaki (Brazil – Poland) and No particular signs by Fernanda Valadez (Mexico).
Cinema in Progress is a professional initiative carried out by the San Sebastian Festival y Cinélatino, Toulouse meetings with the aim of promoting Latin American cinema. Created in 2002, the biannual event has become a platform for the international projection of new talents and a reference meeting point for the audiovisual industry.
Four films presented at Cinemas in Progress in San Sebastián and Toulouse will participate in the Festival this year. In Horizontes Latinos they will compete The Prince, by Sebastián Muñoz, selected at the Venice Critics' Week; August, by Armando Capó, who was also at the Co-production and Films in Progress Forum 32; and The Sharks, by Lucía Garibaldi, winner in Films in Progress 34 and awarded at Sundance and Guadalajara. some beasts, by Jorge Riquelme, awarded in Films in Progress Toulouse, will participate in New Directors.
