NEP Finland and EVS, a perfect couple for 'Love Island Suomi'
For the Finnish version of the popular reality show, NEP designs an end-to-end workflow powered by EVS, including the Dyvi mixer.
The broadcast solutions provider NEP Finland You have selected a production workflow EVS end to end for Love Island Finland, the Finnish version of the popular reality show ITV Studios. The eight-week MTV Finland production of Bonnier takes place in a Spanish villa, offering contestants an unforgettable vacation with the added chance of meeting their soulmate.
Con fifty cameras Capturing the action 24 hours a day, proven reliability is key as the kit will operate continuously to ensure producers can best showcase developing storylines and keep fans engaged across television, social media and through the show's dedicated app.
The robust turnkey EVS workflow used by NEP Finland is ideal for reality TV production and covers everything from ingest, recording, media management and vision mixing to post-production integration. At the center of this deployment is a software-defined mixer Duvi consisting of two processing modules providing 64 inputs and two panels configured as a single output.
NEP Finland selected Dyvi because it offers the flexibility and scalability needed for program line producers to create four broadcast feeds simultaneously. Using Dyvi and its integrated multi-displays, they can monitor the 50 live camera images of each panel, something that was not possible for them before.
All four streams are recorded on a production server XT Live and are recorded using the content management tool IPDirector to allow instant access to content. Producers also use IPDirector to create clips and structure the show that airs the next day.
In combination with the plug-in IPLink from EVS for publishers Adobe Premiere Pro and the application IPBrowse de IPDirector For the social media team, the team can work together and deliver content in the blink of an eye.
Dyvi's built-in multi-display conveniently provides all sources on one video wall for line producers and ingest operators. The mixer's fully configurable panels allow operators to make custom modifications and customize the solution based on their specific needs, providing them with only the tools they need for the job at hand. Dyvi's scalability also means that more inputs and panels can be added if necessary.

Marko Viitanen, general manager and head of production at NEP Finland, said: “EVS offered a fast and reliable end-to-end solution that provides instant access to a significant amount of camera images and an intuitive toolset that fits the production requirements of NEP Finland. Love Island“.
The EVS workflow also provides value outside of core production. The social media team at the site uses IPDirector to browse all content produced by publishers, without the need for additional tools to collect material. They can access Premiere content, add subtitles or graphics, export the clips and publish them directly to Instagram, Facebook or the dedicated app Love Island.
John Carter, vice president of products at EVS, highlights that "EVS technology is ideal for reality TV productions like this, where something newsworthy can happen at any time, anywhere on the set. The unprecedented levels of flexibility.”
