MoMe will deploy Net Insight's Nimbra platform in RTVE's new national media-over-IP network

A key component of the new network will be Nimbra 1060 of Net Insightone Terabit transport platform that transports media based on IP over long distances without the costly traffic engineering typically associated with high-quality media transportation. Another factor that contributes to agility and reduced total cost of ownership is the Media Acceleration Moduleone virtualized Nimbra accelerator card which supports a wide range of encoding, decoding, monitoring, and transport applications with the same hardware.

Adolfo Muñoz Berrón, Director of Broadcasting and Networks at RTVE, points out that "the network is a very important part of our cost efficiency strategy. The Nimbra network combines impeccable quality of service and reliability with a very low total cost of ownership and operating costs. We can now use modern IP-based workflows and dynamically use all assets more efficiently, regardless of where they are in the country."

For its part, Ulrik Rohne, Vice President of Media Networks at Net Insight, adds that "the addition of the new Nimbra 1060 and Media Acceleration modules to RTVE's network increases both capacity and flexibility to adapt to increasing bandwidth demands and new ways of working, such as remote production. RTVE requires the combination of higher quality of service and lower total cost of ownership, which only Net Insight's technology can provide."

The deployment of the new network by Net Insight and its local partner Mome It will take place during the third quarter of 2019.
