PXW-Z750: Sony's new XDCAM camcorder with HDR and HFR recording in a portable and ergonomic design
Its 3-chip 2/3-type 4K CMOS sensor with global shutter offers 4K image quality with high sensitivity and vivid color reproduction,
ideal for the production of informative and live broadcasts.
In February 2020, Sony will have in the market with the new PXW-Z750 camcorder, the first of its kind 2/3 of the world to support recording in 4K native with a system of 3-chip CMOS sensor with global shutter. The latest addition to the family XDCAM It is optimized for news and live production, such as sports broadcasts, live television and documentary filming.
Sony's 3-chip CMOS image sensor system with native UHD and global shutter is mounted on a wide-gamut prism to ensure detailed images and vivid colors, and is accompanied by the ability to record in 4K,High Dynamic Range (HDR) and High Frame Rate (HFR) with high sensitivity and low noise level. Its 2/3 type sensor provides images with a large depth of field and allows you to quickly use the focusing functionalities. The B4 mount lens can be mounted directly, improving flexibility and maintaining high levels of sensitivity and resolution.
The PXW-Z750 is the first 2/3-type 3-chip camcorder to be equipped with global shutter technology, which allows you to record clear, sharp images while suppressing unwanted effects such as flash banding and line scan distortion. Thanks to all this, this camcorder is the ideal tool for recording in unpredictable lighting conditions and for capturing the high-speed objects and actions characteristic of sports, live events and nature videography.
Due to increasing demand and adoption in the industry, the camera also supports HFR in HD up to 120 fps, in order to minimize distortion and blurring in images. The PXW-Z750 uses 4K upsampling for HD imaging, resulting in clear images with minimal noise.
Maximum flexibility in the use of HDR
The PXW-Z750 is also equipped with advanced HDR capabilities. The camera supports S-log3/HLG and use color spaces BT.2020 and BT.709. The PXW-Z750's 4K/HD simultaneous recording feature allows you to enjoy the benefits of recording 4K HDR and HD HDR content at the same time. The PXW-Z750 uses encoding algorithms to optimize HDR recording and for 4K footage recording. The camera supports XAVC-L for Long GOP QFHD with 10-bit 4:2:2 at 200 Mbps, allowing large volumes of captured data to be compressed to approximately 1/3 the size compared to XAVC-I Class 300. And throughout, XAVC-L maintains the high quality, high resolution of 4K images and wide dynamic range. Another of the most powerful features is support for 12G-SDI, which allows 4K images (50p or 60p) to be transferred over a single BNC cable, an option that improves the versatility of the camera.
The camera supports numerous complementary accessories and options that allow it to be adapted to the user's needs, preferences and budget, in addition to increasing interoperability. This includes compatibility with Sony's high-quality wireless audio solutions and shotgun microphones, including the latest DWX Series Digital Wireless Microphone System, the new DWR-S03D attachable receiver, and the DWT-B30 bodypack transmitter. Advanced integration with the DWX Series includes power on/off synchronization, control via menu settings or assignable buttons, and display of audio information on the display.
Combined with the latest models of Sony's rugged SxS PRO Using the new cards with the new reader/writer, the SBAC-T40 with Thunderbolt 3 interface, 240GB of video can be transferred in approximately 3.5 minutes, providing a fast and reliable solution for capturing and downloading large volumes of content.
The camcorder is also compatible with B4 mount lenses, thanks to which it can be used with a wide range of solutions on the market and new objectives. B4 mount lenses provide a range of focal lengths perfect for meeting the needs of non-scripted recording and news environments. The PXW-Z750 also supports various viewfinder and battery solutions.
In addition to hardware integrations, the PXW-Z750 also has built-in wireless networking capabilities and is compatible with XDCAM air, Sony's cloud-based workflow service for news production that offers direct streaming from the recording location and efficient clip management capabilities.
