Rushprompter: a simple prompter for less than a hundred dollars
Rushworks develops an interesting teleprompter under Windows that for just $99 allows you to have the typical functions of these prompters.
Rushworks has launched Rushprompter, a curious teleprompter Windows based which is now available as a standalone download from your website (for just $99) or integrated with VNews, the company's television news production hardware/software system.
Rush Beesley, founder and president of Rushworks, said that although there are countless prompter systems on the market, “we wanted to create one with a design driven by our company's mission: to make it super simple.”
Having created production, editing and animation systems since the early '70s, Beesley has extensive experience in teleprompting.
"Most people don't realize that what we call 'teleprompting' was first done using long rolls of white paper on which people hand-wrote text or used gigantic typewriters developed specifically to create extra-large type. Someone just put the paper under a black-and-white camera displayed on a television monitor," he reflects. “It was simple, but effective.”
Rushprompter allows RTF and TXT creation, export and import, search and replace, real-time font size adjustment, variable line spacing, and individual character control of bold, italic, underline, coloring, and highlighting.
"We've designed the operation and interface to be easy to use, versatile and cost-effective. I think people will immediately recognize the benefits when they download the trial version and try it out," says Beesley.
Rushworks has also developed a lightweight and economical support which supports one or two 12″ 16:9 monitors to display prompter text or any output from the production control mixer.
