International TVE, Channel 24h and RNE begin to broadcast from Hot Bird 13B for all of Europe
RTVE issues both channels in high definition since this month and in the DVB-S2 format, more efficient than the previous generation of the satellite standard.
Continuing with its commitment to emission for Europe and in open International TVE and the 24 hours channel, in addition to the emissions of RNE, and in the best conditions for its users, RTVE begins to broadcast this December through the satellite Hot Bird 13B, with great implantation throughout Europe, which reaches the entire continent and even border countries, using small parable users.
In addition, RTVE has decided to start the emissions in high definition of International TVE of and the 24h channel. For this, more capacity has been endowed in the new satellite to improve the quality of emissions.
At the same time, the Corporation will replace the previous DVB-S standard with the new DVB-S2 generation, thus achieving greater efficiency in bandwidth.
These renovations do not affect the contents of the programs or the schedules, since they are only technical changes, however, in order to continue receiving the RTVE signal, it will be essential that users, which currently receive these RTVE programs in these areas, make some changes in their facilities.
Specifically, it will be necessary to slightly modify the orientation of its parabolic antenna to guide it to the new satellite.
A DVB-S2 type satellite receiver must also be available, a characteristic that receptors that have been sold for years, already include this system, and be high definition. Finally, the receiver must be fed up and configure it with the new parameters.
In most teams this process is very simple and is done automatically, once the corresponding menu of the receiver has been chosen.
All technical parameters of satellite emissions of this RTVE platform, both the current and the new ones, are available here.
To facilitate the transition, RTVE has planned a simultaneous broadcast period in the two and a half months satellites, from December 15 to February 29. During that time, users can make the change at the time they want, since both emissions (in Astra and Hot Bird) will live during this period.
However, as of March 1, 2020, the new emission will only remain in the air, so if the indicated changes have not been made before, the RTVE signal cannot be received. An on -screen label in the emissions that will terminate periodically remember the need to make these changes.
In addition to the TVE channels, six national radio stations of Spain can also be received: RNE, Radio 3, Ràdio 4, Radio 5, Classical Radio and Exterior Radio of Spain.
