Improvements in Camio 4.8 simplify quality control, increase control over saved elements, simplify media rendering in linear and non-linear production.

ChyronHego Camio 4.8

ChyronHego just launched Way 4.8, the latest version of its MOS-based graphical asset management system. Serving as a complete software solution for the creation, production and delivery of news content across multiple platforms, Camio offers designers, producers and directors the flexibility and functionality to bring their stories to air.

Las improvements in Camio 4.8 improves quality control, increase control over saved items, simplify media rendering in linear and non-linear production, and significantly expand the capabilities of Camio's popular replication feature.

Teus Groenewoud, from ChyronHego, comments that "with its model-based and story-based workflow, Camio removes the layers of complexity, allowing both new and experienced producers to fill creative elements for any digital screen. The new features of Camio 4.8 simplify the daily tasks of these users, further optimizing the system for dispersed teams and making the 'create once, publish many' principle even easier in a spoke-hub graphical workflow."

Accessible through the Google Chrome browser, the new feature of WebM Proxies Camio 4.8 allows users to generate playable clip views in the HTML5-based Camio Asset Manager and interface. Quick and convenient review of clips before playing on air adds improved quality assurance for error-free production.

Thanks to the new Camio feature “Autofill Metadata and Replication", the latter now includes all asset metadata, proxy thumbnail and regeneration, and Camio Autocomplete Interface (LUCI) data. By incorporating more template-based content creation elements into replication, this new feature offers users more flexible control of graphics across the entire station group, especially for remote stations and equipment.

The new feature “Saved Items” in Camio's interface provides a configurable folder-based hierarchy for permissions and access to templates at a global or individual level. The feature also allows users to set expiration dates – in hours, days, weeks or never – that align with current or ongoing news cycles. Easy access to frequently used templates allows for faster and more efficient content production.

Finally, a new feature “Media Rendering" allows users to create full broadcast-quality animations from MOS-based templates in the HTML5-based Camio interface. Renders can be saved locally or in the Camio Asset Manager. These features streamline workflows across multiple productions, with unified content creation for linear on-air production and non-linear production for streaming, web and social media.
