Formula TV chooses VSN for news production

The Georgian channel relies on a complete end-to-end solution from VSN to cover the channel's workflows for news production, automation and content distribution.

The Georgian television channel Formula TV, whose broadcasts began in October 2019, has opted for a complete end-to-end solution of VSN to cover channel workflows for news production, automation and distribution of content.

Georgia's new television channel was created by television and video production company, Formula Creative. The main objective of this project was to allow the Formula TV team, previously in charge of the content production of another television channel, to maintain the very successful audience ratings that it once managed to achieve on the previous channel.

Formula TV needed a flexible solution that would allow journalists to produce news quickly from anywhere in the world. To do this, the company decided to acquire VSN NewsConnect, the first web plugin for a MAM system that allows you to unify and integrate under a single interface all the tools and systems necessary for news production, making them easily accessible from the interface of the majority of NRCS available on the market.

VSN NewsConnect will allow Formula TV to access the platform through the NRCS interface VSNExplorer and, specifically, to the modules of Media Asset Management (MAM) y Production Asset Management (PAM) They will be used to manage the entire life cycle of the media and organize the company's production environment.

Likewise, it will also allow the NRCS to be integrated with the studio playout VSNLivecom and CiaB VSNOneTV, which in this case will be used as a video server and as a graphics system so that journalists can work with VSNOne TV's graphics templates and can add them to the news and preview them on video. Everything from the NRCS interface itself.

Automation

Jointly, an MCR automation system with redundant configuration, based on VSNOne TV, and the VSNAutorec solution for video ingestion from any available source will also be implemented as part of the project. The facility will also feature the HTML5 traffic and planning system, VSNCrea, for content planning and distribution, and with the system VSNBroadrec, and multi-channel ingestion server highly reliable for monitoring and legal copying.

The project is completed with a shared content storage Dell EMC Isilon and with the file solution DAC ALTO. In conclusion, the VSN proposal offers Formula TV the possibility of having an uninterrupted end-to-end workflow that facilitates the daily work of journalists and allows them to quickly produce and publish news from a single centralized interface.
