Blackmagic launches ATEM Mini Pro, its new mixer with 4 HDMI inputs

The new model that allows you to stream live over the Internet over an Ethernet network, record H.264 files on USB drives and simultaneously view multiple HDMI sources on a multi-screen.

Blackmagic Design has unveiled the new ATEM Mini Pro, and economical mixer with additional features for record, monitor sources and stream live through platforms such as YouTube Live, Facebook and Twitch via connection Ethernet.

In turn, it is possible to choose different types of cuts and effects using the CUT or AUTO buttons. Unlike the former, the latter allows you to change from one shot to another depending on the selected transition, for example, a dissolve, a fade to a certain color or other more dramatic effects. On the other hand, the device controls provide the opportunity to choose different positions for the superimposed images. It should also be noted that this model facilitates the storage of titles and graphics, which can be accessed through an external control computer program.

The device's HDMI inputs allow you to connect up to four high-quality camcorders. All fonts will be synchronized if they are in different formats, so there is nothing to worry about. In addition, it is possible to take advantage of the cameras' performance in low light conditions to film theatrical productions, weddings, school concerts or video clips.

In order to guarantee the widest compatibility, the USB port of the ATEM Mini model allows the device to be detected as a webcam by the programs used to broadcast content. This not only provides the possibility of transmitting images in HD 1080 resolution, through Open Broadcaster, XSplit Broadcaster, YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Skype, Zoom, Twitch, Periscope, Livestream and Wirecast.

The ATEM Mini Pro model includes an Ethernet connection that allows you to stream live on YouTube, Facebook and Twitch with better quality, without skipping frames and through a much simpler configuration. Simply select the desired platform and enter the password to start the broadcast. For its part, the program ATEM Software Consl has panels for configuring the transmission, the status of which is indicated in one of the simultaneous display mode windows. This is very easy to interpret, since the data rate indicator shows the Internet speed required for the selected format.

This model also offers the ability to directly record full-length H.264 files with ACC audio to USB flash drives for later uploading to sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. Additionally, it allows you to use multiple storage media using a USB adapter or a Blackmagic MultiDock, so when one fills up, recording automatically continues on the next one. Recording settings and choice of units are configured in the ATEM Software Control program. In turn, the recording status will appear in the simultaneous display mode windows.

The two 3.5 mm stereo inputs allow you to connect lapel or desktop microphones. Furthermore, during an interview, the two additional audio inputs make it possible for both the presenter and the person being interviewed to have lapel microphones. En este sentido, la versión ATEM Mini Pro cuenta una opción que permite supervisar las fuentes, el programa y el anticipo en un solo televisor o monitor HDMI. Cada ventana muestra la señal de una cámara e incluye indicadores para saber cual está al aire, así como rótulos personalizados y medidores de audio. Asimismo, es posible ver el contenido del reproductor multimedia, a fin de confirmar el gráfico seleccionado, También dispone del estado de grabación y de la transmisión por Internet, así como de un mezclador de audio Fairlight.

Gracias a estas herramientas, el modelo ATEM Mini permite realizar mezclas de audio complejas con un total de doce canales, entre los que se incluyen las fuentes HDMI y las dos entradas estéreo para micrófonos. En tal sentido, los modelos Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K y 6K pueden emplearse como cámaras de estudio, ya que se controlan mediante la conexión HDMI. Esto permite acceder a los ajustes y a las herramientas de corrección cromática desde el programa ATEM Software Control. De esta forma, al modificar el valor ISO, color, la apertura del diafragma, el enfoque y la distancia focal desde un equipo informático, la persona encargada de la cámara puede concentrarse por completo en la toma. La aplicación ofrece dos modos de visualización. El primero se asemeja a una unidad de control de cámaras (CCU) tradicional, mientras que el segundo es similar a la interfaz de DaVinci Resolve y permite dar un estilo cinematográfico a cualquier producción en directo.
