The RTVE-UAB Chair for News Innovation in the Digital Society, created in 2016, is renewed for a period of two years.
The Corporation Spanish Radio Television and the Autonomous University of Barcelona have renewed for a period of two years the RTVE-UAB Chair for News Innovation in the Digital Society.
Created in 2016, this Applied Research Chair has developed important work over the years that began with a study focused on the impact of new technologies in new forms of journalism, subsequently carried out outstanding research work in the field of mobility journalism (MOJO) and continues at this time with the prospecting work related to the use of the artificial intelligence in news programs.
The Chair is associated with the OI2 Observatory related to the field of journalism and information formats. The observatory is considered a reference for journalists from all over the world who regularly attend its conferences, meetings and seminars.
In this forum, RTVE has made, for example, presentations on the strategies of 24-hour channels in the different countries around us, the formulas to channel citizen participation or the possibilities that mobility journalism opens up.
Both RTVE and the UAB have agreed that the renewal for the 2020-2022 period will allow the continuation of an experience that has become an international benchmark due to its academic rigor, its practical usefulness and its vocation for public service. Both institutions have highlighted the excellence of the work teams that both RTVE and the UAB assign to the Chair, which undoubtedly contribute to its prestige.
